CALLING ALL ZINE-MAKERS!After a two year stint at the Barbican, The £3 Christmas Bazaar is coming to Sheffield for the very first time — and there’s room for some zines too.
Part art show, part cosy village fête, the event will be held at Sheffield’s brand new Snig Hill Gallery on Saturday 17 December. The concept of the show is the value of objects, and how within the context of a Christmas fair, ordinary items can be transformed into desirable commodities. Add a sprig of mistletoe and the scent of cinnamon, and voila! Suddenly you’re scraping your purse dry for a sip of hot cider.
Still, you needn’t let empty wallet blues dampen your sense of occasion, because as you might have gathered from its name, everything at the Bazaar will be affordably priced. Plus, artists can apply for a stall at the event free of charge, providing the ideal opportunity to get their zines noticed over the Christmas period, as well as sharing some festive cheer.
So if you make zines and think you might be interested in hosting a stall on the day, the organisers would love to hear from you — the only condition is that your work must be priced at £3 or less.
To apply, please email Julia on Julia@villageunderground.co.uk. Proposals should be submitted by Thursday 1 December. More information can be found on their Facebook.
