Bonuscupped combines wanderlust with a love of DIY and punk, which is, as it turns out, a winning formula. There are tales of dodging bears in Canada, throwing up in India, watching bottles of beer crash to the ground on a rainy camping trip to Wales, all interspersed with music interviews and incisive commentary on modern living. The travel pieces give it a real personal edge and I could definitely relate to “the sad sight of a sagging plastic bag haemorrhaging a foamy stream of high quality ale and glass all over the asphalt”. There’s also a list of sell-outs (Postman Pat and hummus are two of the culprits), cartoons, miscellaneous images and a serial following the Socialist Adventures of Giggsy. The back pages feature music releases as well as some welcome zine coverage, putting the reader safely on the trail of a dozen other great titles.
